Hamburger Soup

My apologies!  I didn’t realize that this didn’t actually post.

Hamburger Soup

1 lb. ground beef

2 large white onions, finely chopped (cone #2)

1 bulb of garlic, finely chopped (cone #1)

olive oil

Fry the meat in a frying pan in order to drain off some of the fat (if you have saladmaster, then use the degreaser and saute the cooked meat with the onions).  Saute the onions and garlic in your soup pot with some oil.  Stir in the cooked beef.

Add:

1 tsp. dried thyme

1 bay leaf

salt & pepper to taste

1-2 tsp. taco seasoning

Mix it up with the meat, onions and garlic.

Add:

28 oz can of diced tomatoes

4 cups of beef broth (make sure this is gluten-free)

6 carrots, chopped

4 celery stalks, chopped

Bring soup to a boil, turn to low and then cover.  Let it simmer for 2 hours.  You can add rice to this if you like and any other vegetables of your choosing.

SALADMASTER:

If you have a saladmaster set, use the degreaser to reduce the fat content in the beef.  Saute the onions and garlic in your 5 qt. pot and add the beef.  Mix in the seasonings and saute for 1 minute.  Then add the rest of the ingredients.  Cover.  Turn to low when it starts to click and leave for 1 hour.
